N.C. State honors district

Posted 10.27.05 - RALEIGH - The Public Schools of Robeson County was honored Monday by N.C. State University for eliminating the routine application of pesticides in its schools.

The county school system was among 11 school districts that have implemented N.C. State's Integrated Pest Management Program to safeguard children's health. The program is a common sense approach to pest control that reduces the risk of exposure to pesticides for students, teachers and staff in public schools.

The recognition ceremony took place at McKimmon Center in Raleigh.
