Retirement Village Using IPM Methods to Rid Pests From Interior Plants

Posted 06.30.05 - Indoor plants at the Lakeland Wesley Village retirement community were mysteriously dying until the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service became involved. A county agent discovered that the plants were falling victim to mealybugs. Nonetheless, a pesticide-free approach was adopted to solve the problem. Ladybugs were brought in to save the plants and as a result, facility administrators say that the plants are making a healthy comeback.
