Request From: Steve Toth
Date Requested: Aug 13, 2009
Request: The following is a request for comments on the "master label" for pyrethrin from Wilfred Burr of the USDA Office of Pest Management Policy. This is a lengthy technical document (84 pages). If there is someone in your state that is interested in reviewing and commenting on this document, please distribute it to them and send me their responses. If not, please let me know as well. Thanks. Steve Toth -------------------------------- Attached is the "master label" for pyrethrin. The Pyrethrin Task Force developed this master label to be used as a guideline and as the Use Closure Memo to document uses of pyrethrin products. There are many uses as you well know. As part of the Risk Assessment process we have been asked to send it out for comments. It is long. Please check it over for errors or omissions. Are there uses on the label that are no longer practiced? Are the rates accurate? Are there some uses not mentioned on the label? This is for pyrethrin only, not any of the pyrethroids. The information in this document will be used as the risk assessment begins. It is critical that the information contained in the document be as accurate as possible. Please pass this on to those in the know. Send any comments to Carmen Rodia, he is the Chemical Review Manager for the pyrethrins and please cc me anything sent to Carmen. His email and phone number are listed below. I also will be sending out the same type of information for MGK 264 and Piperonyl butoxide (PBO). Although the names are changed the game is the same. All three chemistries are being considered at the same time. Many pyrethrin products contain PBO and MGK 264. Thank you for your efforts on this. Wilfred The rest of this message is from Carmen: Subject: Pyrethrin Use Closure Memo On this date, I distributed the Use Closure Memo for Pyrethrin, which consists of a distribution memo and a copy of the Py Master Label. Please review the Master Label and let me know by COB on December 12, 2003 if you have any questions, comments or if you need any additional information from the Pyrethrin Joint Venture in order to do your risk assessments. Thanks, Carmen. Carmen J.
